# Video Widget vs SpritePals

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Video Widget at 546 against SpritePals's 11. Video Widget also leads on rating (4.3 vs 4.1). SpritePals's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 40%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Widget sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and SpritePals sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video Widget holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Widget has 546 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Video Widget's written reviews are positive against 50% of SpritePals's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Video Widget ships an update fortnightly, SpritePals every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
