# SimplePixels vs Paintrix

The clearest difference is update cadence: Paintrix at every 5 days against SimplePixels's fortnightly. SimplePixels's advantage is iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SimplePixels sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Paintrix sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SimplePixels ships an update fortnightly, Paintrix every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
