# Gleam vs FlashStacks

Gleam and FlashStacks both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of FlashStacks's written reviews are positive against 47% of Gleam's. FlashStacks also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription). Gleam's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 7) and chart position (#127 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gleam sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and FlashStacks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gleam holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gleam has 12K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Gleam's written reviews are positive against 100% of FlashStacks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Gleam ships an update every 5 days, FlashStacks every 8 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
