# Pet Journal vs Crittr

The clearest difference is ads: Pet Journal at none against Crittr's shown. Crittr's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pet Journal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Crittr sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pet Journal ships an update monthly, Crittr weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
