# Universal TV vs Otterlocks

The clearest difference is rating: Otterlocks at 5.0 against Universal TV's 1.4. Otterlocks also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). Universal TV's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (20 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Universal TV sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Otterlocks asks for nothing beyond the download.

Otterlocks holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Universal TV has 20 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Universal TV ships an update every 5 days, Otterlocks every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
