# Steps vs Gulpo

The clearest difference is rating: Gulpo at 5.0 against Steps's 4.6. Gulpo also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 10 days). Steps's advantage is ratings volume (47 vs 3) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Steps sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Gulpo sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gulpo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Steps has 47 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Steps's written reviews are positive against 75% of Gulpo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Steps ships an update every 10 days, Gulpo every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
