# FontNotes vs Retila

The clearest difference is ads: Retila at none against FontNotes's shown. FontNotes's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FontNotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Retila sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FontNotes ships an update every 3 days, Retila every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
