# FontNotes vs Notes

The clearest difference is update cadence: FontNotes at every 3 days against Notes's every 11 days. Notes's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FontNotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 18 respectively.

FontNotes ships an update every 3 days, Notes every 11 days. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
