# Fire Emblem Shadows vs Planet Explorers

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Planet Explorers at 100% against Fire Emblem Shadows's 32%. Planet Explorers also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11) and update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly). Fire Emblem Shadows's advantage is ratings volume (1.9K vs 1) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fire Emblem Shadows sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Planet Explorers asks for nothing beyond the download.

Fire Emblem Shadows holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fire Emblem Shadows has 1.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Fire Emblem Shadows's written reviews are positive against 100% of Planet Explorers's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fire Emblem Shadows ships an update monthly, Planet Explorers every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
