# Speedometer vs DoubleDash

The clearest difference is review sentiment: DoubleDash at 75% against Speedometer's 25%. DoubleDash also leads on ads (none vs shown). Speedometer's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (773 vs 25). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and DoubleDash sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speedometer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer has 773 ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Speedometer's written reviews are positive against 75% of DoubleDash's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speedometer ships an update weekly, DoubleDash every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
