# Speedometer vs MPC

The clearest difference is rating: Speedometer at 4.6 against MPC's 3.0. Speedometer also leads on ratings volume (721 vs 2) and chart position (#55 vs unranked). MPC's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and MPC sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speedometer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer has 721 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speedometer ships an update weekly, MPC fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
