# Speedometer vs Velocita

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Velocita at 100% against Speedometer's 25%. Velocita also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Speedometer's advantage is ratings volume (801 vs 5) and chart position (#41 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Velocita sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Velocita holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer has 801 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 25% of Speedometer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Velocita's.

Speedometer ships an update weekly, Velocita every 10 days. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
