# Speedometer vs VeloGuard

The clearest difference is rating: VeloGuard at 5.0 against Speedometer's 4.6. Speedometer's advantage is ratings volume (721 vs 1) and chart position (#40 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and VeloGuard sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VeloGuard holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer has 721 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speedometer ships an update weekly, VeloGuard every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
