# Retra vs Flight Deck FMS

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Flight Deck FMS at 100% against Retra's 15%. Flight Deck FMS also leads on ads (none vs shown). Retra's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (3K vs 5). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Retra sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Flight Deck FMS sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Retra holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Retra has 3K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Retra's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flight Deck FMS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Retra ships an update every 4 days, Flight Deck FMS every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
