# Nola vs Notepad

The clearest difference is ads: Nola at none against Notepad's shown. Nola also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 months). Notepad's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.2). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nola sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Notepad sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nola ships an update every 10 days, Notepad every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
