# Trace vs Anagrail

The clearest difference is ads: Anagrail at none against Trace's shown. Anagrail also leads on rating (4.0 vs 3.5) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Trace's advantage is ratings volume (89 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trace sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Anagrail sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Anagrail holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trace has 89 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Trace ships an update every 3 weeks, Anagrail every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
