# Transcribe vs HamThings PTT

The clearest difference is update cadence: HamThings PTT at every 4 days against Transcribe's every 3 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Transcribe sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and HamThings PTT sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $8.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
