# LumiSource vs Proll

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: LumiSource at none against Proll's 2. LumiSource also leads on ratings volume (130 vs 14). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proll sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. LumiSource asks for nothing beyond the download.

LumiSource holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LumiSource has 130 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of LumiSource's written reviews are positive against 100% of Proll's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LumiSource ships an update every 3 months, Proll every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
