# TryPhase vs AquaAlert

The clearest difference is monetization model: AquaAlert at free with in-app purchases against TryPhase's subscription. AquaAlert also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). TryPhase's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (30 vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TryPhase sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and AquaAlert sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AquaAlert holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TryPhase has 30 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of TryPhase's written reviews are positive against 100% of AquaAlert's.

TryPhase ships an update every 10 days, AquaAlert every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
