# Notepad vs Notes

The clearest difference is update cadence: Notes at every 11 days against Notepad's every 3 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notepad ships an update every 3 months, Notes every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
