# LingoBook vs ForeignReader

The clearest difference is update cadence: ForeignReader at every 2 weeks against LingoBook's every 6 months. LingoBook's advantage is iOS requirement (18.6 vs 26.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LingoBook sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.00 per month and ForeignReader sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LingoBook ships an update every 6 months, ForeignReader every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
