# Longshot vs Spoolscroll

The clearest difference is update cadence: Spoolscroll at weekly against Longshot's monthly. Longshot's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Longshot sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Spoolscroll sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Longshot ships an update monthly, Spoolscroll weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
