# Filter vs Astari

The clearest difference is rating: Filter at 5.0 against Astari's 4.4. Filter also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10). Astari's advantage is ratings volume (377 vs 1) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Astari sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Filter asks for nothing beyond the download.

Filter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Astari has 377 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Filter ships an update every 6 weeks, Astari every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
