# TCG Now vs TCG Value Scanner

The clearest difference is review sentiment: TCG Now at 100% against TCG Value Scanner's 27%. TCG Now also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). TCG Value Scanner's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 12). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TCG Now sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $49.99 per month and TCG Value Scanner sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TCG Value Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TCG Value Scanner has 1.2K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of TCG Now's written reviews are positive against 27% of TCG Value Scanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TCG Now ships an update every 3 weeks, TCG Value Scanner every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
