# Geonest Mapping vs MapNero

The clearest difference is update cadence: MapNero at every 5 days against Geonest Mapping's monthly. Geonest Mapping's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Geonest Mapping sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and MapNero sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $34.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Geonest Mapping ships an update monthly, MapNero every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
