# Polar vs Michu

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Polar at none against Michu's 1. Polar also leads on ratings volume (21 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.6). Michu's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Michu sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Polar asks for nothing beyond the download.

Michu holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Polar has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Polar ships an update every 3 weeks, Michu every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
