# NoteSwan vs Preludio

The clearest difference is ads: Preludio at none against NoteSwan's shown. Preludio also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). NoteSwan's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (18.5 vs 26.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NoteSwan sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Preludio sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NoteSwan holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Preludio has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NoteSwan ships an update every 4 months, Preludio every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
