# Record Lectures vs BBnotes

The clearest difference is rating: Record Lectures at 5.0 against BBnotes's 4.4. BBnotes's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and ratings volume (8 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Record Lectures sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and BBnotes sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Record Lectures holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BBnotes has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Record Lectures's written reviews are positive against 100% of BBnotes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Record Lectures ships an update every 5 days, BBnotes every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on September 20, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
