# DMVTestPass vs PermitReady

The clearest difference is ads: DMVTestPass at none against PermitReady's shown. DMVTestPass also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). PermitReady's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DMVTestPass sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per 7 days and PermitReady sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DMVTestPass ships an update every 3 weeks, PermitReady every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on September 14, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
