# App Lock vs App Lock

The clearest difference is monetization model: App Lock at free with in-app purchases against App Lock's subscription. App Lock also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). App Lock's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (369 vs 4). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Lock sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and App Lock sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Lock holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: App Lock has 369 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

App Lock ships an update every 4 days, App Lock every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
