# StudyPet vs Study Surfers

The clearest difference is ads: StudyPet at none against Study Surfers's shown. StudyPet also leads on ratings volume (135 vs 9). Study Surfers's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StudyPet sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Study Surfers sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for StudyPet against 4.6 for Study Surfers. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StudyPet has 135 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 50% and 50% positive.

StudyPet ships an update every 4 weeks, Study Surfers every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
