# Playbacks vs Syllabus AI

The clearest difference is rating: Playbacks at 4.8 against Syllabus AI's 4.3. Playbacks also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 6). Syllabus AI's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 84%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Playbacks sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days and Syllabus AI sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Playbacks holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Playbacks has 1.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Playbacks's written reviews are positive against 100% of Syllabus AI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Playbacks ships an update every 4 days, Syllabus AI every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
