# GiftCard8 vs MBC Data

The clearest difference is rating: GiftCard8 at 4.4 against MBC Data's 3.9. GiftCard8 also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (104 vs 9). MBC Data's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 87%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GiftCard8 holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GiftCard8 has 104 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of GiftCard8's written reviews are positive against 100% of MBC Data's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GiftCard8 ships an update monthly, MBC Data every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
