# Packing Recording vs Desktop Browser

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Desktop Browser at none against Packing Recording's 1. Packing Recording's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Packing Recording sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Desktop Browser asks for nothing beyond the download.

Packing Recording ships an update every 4 weeks, Desktop Browser every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
