# Pocket vs Scriben

Pocket and Scriben both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Scriben's written reviews are positive against 68% of Pocket's. Scriben also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 3 days) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Pocket's advantage is ratings volume (7.1K vs 4) and chart position (#23 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pocket sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Scriben sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Pocket against 5.0 for Scriben. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pocket has 7.1K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 68% of Pocket's written reviews are positive against 100% of Scriben's.

Pocket ships an update every 3 days, Scriben daily. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
