# SMS Forwarder vs TextKeep

The clearest difference is monetization model: SMS Forwarder at freemium against TextKeep's subscription. SMS Forwarder also leads on review sentiment (83% vs 59%). TextKeep's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly) and ratings volume (268 vs 50). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SMS Forwarder sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and TextKeep sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for SMS Forwarder against 4.4 for TextKeep. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TextKeep has 268 ratings behind it against 50, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of SMS Forwarder's written reviews are positive against 59% of TextKeep's.

SMS Forwarder ships an update weekly, TextKeep every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
