# SMS Forwarder vs Fwrd

The clearest difference is rating: Fwrd at 5.0 against SMS Forwarder's 4.2. SMS Forwarder's advantage is ratings volume (50 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SMS Forwarder sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Fwrd sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fwrd holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SMS Forwarder has 50 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SMS Forwarder ships an update every 9 days, Fwrd every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
