# Starrise Contacts vs Scribly

The clearest difference is rating: Scribly at 5.0 against Starrise Contacts's 4.6. Scribly also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). Starrise Contacts's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (14 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Starrise Contacts sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Scribly sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scribly holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Starrise Contacts has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Starrise Contacts ships an update fortnightly, Scribly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
