# GridBox vs Marbles

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Marbles at none against GridBox's 2. Marbles also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 months). GridBox's advantage is ratings volume (75 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GridBox sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Marbles asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for GridBox against 4.3 for Marbles. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GridBox has 75 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GridBox ships an update every 5 months, Marbles weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
