# HiNoter vs Instant Transcript

The clearest difference is monetization model: Instant Transcript at free with in-app purchases against HiNoter's subscription. Instant Transcript also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). HiNoter's advantage is ratings volume (876 vs 2) and chart position (#197 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HiNoter sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Instant Transcript sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Instant Transcript holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HiNoter has 876 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HiNoter ships an update every 8 days, Instant Transcript every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
