# PicPDF vs Focus Timer

The clearest difference is rating: PicPDF at 5.0 against Focus Timer's 4.5. PicPDF also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (41 vs 4). Focus Timer's advantage is monetization model (paid vs subscription). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PicPDF sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year and Focus Timer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PicPDF holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PicPDF has 41 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PicPDF ships an update every 2 months, Focus Timer every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
