# Language Learning vs Podly

The clearest difference is ads: Podly at none against Language Learning's shown. Podly also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (39 vs 7). Language Learning's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 57%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Language Learning sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Podly sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Podly holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Podly has 39 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Language Learning's written reviews are positive against 57% of Podly's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Language Learning ships an update every 9 days, Podly every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
