# Secure QR Code Reader vs Focus Friend

The clearest difference is update cadence: Focus Friend at every 4 days against Secure QR Code Reader's every 3 weeks. Focus Friend also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Secure QR Code Reader's advantage is ratings volume (38 vs 5). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure QR Code Reader sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Focus Friend sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Secure QR Code Reader against 4.4 for Focus Friend. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure QR Code Reader has 38 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Secure QR Code Reader ships an update every 3 weeks, Focus Friend every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
