# CoMaps vs ArkenMap

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: CoMaps at none against ArkenMap's 1. CoMaps also leads on review sentiment (80% vs 50%) and ratings volume (136 vs 2). ArkenMap's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ArkenMap sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. CoMaps asks for nothing beyond the download.

ArkenMap holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CoMaps has 136 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of CoMaps's written reviews are positive against 50% of ArkenMap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CoMaps ships an update fortnightly, ArkenMap weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
