# Netbooks vs Ei Empowered

The clearest difference is update cadence: Netbooks at every 2 months against Ei Empowered's every 8 months. Netbooks also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Netbooks sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month and Ei Empowered sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Netbooks ships an update every 2 months, Ei Empowered every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
