# Block Star vs Block Nova!

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Block Nova! at 11K against Block Star's 626. Block Star's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks) and review sentiment (57% vs 49%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Block Star sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Block Nova! sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Block Star against 4.7 for Block Nova!. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Block Nova! has 11K ratings behind it against 626, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 57% of Block Star's written reviews are positive against 49% of Block Nova!'s.

Block Star ships an update every 5 days, Block Nova! every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
