# Revel.cam vs SYNC

The clearest difference is monetization model: SYNC at free against Revel.cam's free with in-app purchases. Revel.cam's advantage is ratings volume (15 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Revel.cam sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and SYNC sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Revel.cam against 5.0 for SYNC. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Revel.cam has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Revel.cam ships an update every 2 weeks, SYNC monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
