# Video Player vs 映盒

The clearest difference is rating: 映盒 at 4.1 against Video Player's 3.7. 映盒 also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 11 days). Video Player's advantage is review sentiment (69% vs 50%) and device support (5 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Player sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and 映盒 sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

映盒 holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 33 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Video Player's written reviews are positive against 50% of 映盒's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Video Player ships an update every 11 days, 映盒 every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
