# Velora vs Scroll Scripture

The clearest difference is ads: Velora at none against Scroll Scripture's shown. Velora also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 60%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Scroll Scripture's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 51). On price, rating and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Velora sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Scroll Scripture sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Velora against 4.8 for Scroll Scripture. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scroll Scripture has 1.1K ratings behind it against 51, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of Velora's written reviews are positive against 60% of Scroll Scripture's.

Velora ships an update fortnightly, Scroll Scripture every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
