# Velora vs Scrolls

The clearest difference is update cadence: Scrolls at every 2 days against Velora's fortnightly. Velora's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (86% vs 75%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Velora sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Scrolls sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Velora against 4.7 for Scrolls. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 52 and 14 respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of Velora's written reviews are positive against 75% of Scrolls's.

Velora ships an update fortnightly, Scrolls every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
